Stan Baker is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and has lived in Portland, Oregon for the past seventeen years. He has been married twenty two years to his wife Rocío and has an eleven year old son - Santi and a six year old daughter Sofia.
Stan's teaching experience includes 22 years in K-12 classrooms in both elementary and high school environments. He has coached youth soccer for more than thirty years and has lived abroad in Spain as well as in South America. He holds A and Y coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) as well as FIFA recognized licenses from Argentina (ATFA - Pro and Youth) Brazil (CBF - Escola Brasileira de Futebol - Level 1 Youth) and Peru (FPF) ESEFUL.
He most recently spent four years as the Director of Methodology and Coaching Education at Hillsboro Soccer Club, and has also held the position of head boys coach at Woodburn High School where he helped the program win its fourth State Championship in 2016. He is presently an embassador coach for Technica Football of Denmark and a representative of Futbol Lab Spanish Coaching Education in Spain. He has coached previously at Westside Timbers Alliance (Formerly Westside Metros) as well as with the Portland Timbers Pre-Academy/ODP Program. Stan is bilingual Spanish/English and In his spare time has translated books into both Spanish and English for the Internationally renowned coaching mentor Horst Wein. He is known for his commitment to long-term development and the pursuit of the beautiful game.
Stan's biggest source of pride is in seeing players move up to a new level whether that is at the state level ODP, regional ODP, an id2 National Camp, the U17 residency in Bradenton or professional soccer. For his service to youth soccer Stan was named United States Youth Soccer's National Coach of the Year - Boys Competitive 2011.
